Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus: TSWV of Peanut: Risk Index

TSWV of Peanut

TSWV Risk Assessment Index Exercises

Answer to Risk Index Exercise 3

Numbers in parentheses indicate the index value associated with that particular factor.

Answer 3:

Planting Georgia Green (20) during week of May 5-15 (5) and obtaining a plant population of greater than 4 plants per foot of row (5) without phorate (15) with twin row pattern (5) with conventional tillage (15) would give him an index total of 65 points which places him in the Low Risk Category. Therefore, if Farmer Rodriguez uses the lowest risk factors of the other categories, he can avoid using phorate and still get in the Low Risk Category.
